Here you will have the opportunity to meet local hill tribes going about their daily activities. You stay at a Karen Hill Tribe lodge with the luxury of very comfortable rooms and great food. The scenery is stunning and you will enjoy riding elephant riding in jungle and through mountain streams. Visit a Lisu Hill Tribe village and see the women dressed in their brightly colored costumes. The tour includes a visit to the tranquil town of Pai nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains, the home of many hill tribes.
Package Highlights
Pick up from your Chiang Mai hotel and head north for 250km to the Karen hill tribe lodge. On route through beautiful mountain scenery you visit a local market and see Thais selling their products.
Visit Nam Duang National Park to see Thailand's largest geyser Pong Duat. Continue along mountain scenery to swim or relax at Mok Fha waterfall. Continue to Wat Chan the home of the Karen Hill Tribe people. Visit Baan Chan Temple and enjoy lunch in the scenery and fragrance of natural pine forest. Head into the mountains by 4 X 4 over narrow mountain roads to Le Musikee mountain Lodge completely surrounded by forest, mountains with the sound of birds and mountain streams. In the afternoon explore pristine nature around the Lodge, Golden rice fields, mountains with streams, where you can swim in the crystal clear water.
Dinner at the lodge is followed by a fascinating Karen Hill Tribe cultural show with musical instruments and lively performances of proud young hill tribe people. The show gives guests an insight into the lifestyle of the hill tribe people. Afterwards chat with friends around the log fire before retiring to your chalet.
After a good breakfast commence a 3 hour trek through jungle and along streams to the elephant camp. During the trek your guide will show you edible fruit, herbs, and medicinal plants. Jungle Lunch is prepared using natural utensils - bamboo, Banana Leaves. After lunch swim at a mountain waterfall and ride on elephant back through jungle, over mountains and along streams. After leaving the elephants at the elephant camp continue to Karen Hill Tribe Lodge to relax.
After dinner enjoy chatting with friends around the camp fire until you retire to your room.
After a great breakfast, trek though jungle and rice fields to Baan Houy Ya-Nai a Karen hill tribe village and be welcomed by an ancient Karen Hill Tribe ceremony. At the village you observe daily activities such as rice pounding, weaving. A short trip by truck from the village takes you to a Lisu hill tribe village where you witness Lisu daily activities. Continue to the Royal Project specializing in non-indigenous fruit and vegetables. Picnic lunch is served at either the village or the Royal Project where you can taste fresh Arabica coffee grown at the Royal Project.
Continue on to Pai, a charming city nestling in a valley surrounded by mountains. Dinner is served at a Chinese restaurant in the city, then enjoy bargaining at the mini night market, where hill tribes sell their goods. Overnight at resort in Pai.
After breakfast visit Wat Mae Yen temple and continue to visit Lod Cave with grand stalagmites and stalactites. Return to Pai for lunch, then return to Chiang Mai around 17h30 to your hotel or airport for your next destination.
