3 Day 2 Night Trek

This trek has the luxury of a Mountain Lodge with your private chalet located next to a crystal clear river. The chalets come with first class bedding and bathrooms with hot and cold water. From the Lodge you hike to visit hill tribe mountain villages and witness their daily activities. The trek boasts evening entertainment with a hill tribe show providing insight to traditional dress and an translation of Karen songs. Traditional musical instruments accompany the songs of the young hill tribe people.

 

On completion of this tour you will have experienced an enriching and emotional experience with a good knowledge of Karen hill tribe life. Overnight at Karen Hill Tribe lodge with a stunning location over looking a rice field valley with mountain streams.

Day 1 Chiang Mai - Musikee Eco Lodge (L/D)

Pick up from your Chiang Mai hotel and head north for 250km to the Karen hill tribe lodge. On route pass beautiful mountain scenery visit a local market to see local Thais selling their products.

Visit Nam Duang National Park to visit Thailand's largest geyser Pong Duat. Continue along mountain scenery and relax or swim at Mok Fha waterfall in natural scenery. Continue on to Wat Chan the home of the Karen Hill Tribe people. Visit Baan Chan Temple and enjoy lunch in the scenery and fragrance of natural pine forest. Head into the mountains with 4 X 4 along narrow mountain roads to Le Musikee mountain Lodge surrounded by forest, mountains and the sound of birds and mountain streams. In the afternoon explore pristine nature around the Lodge - gold rice fields, mountains and streams, where you can swim in the crystal water.

Dinner is served at the lodge restaurant followed with a fascinating Karen Hill Tribe cultural show with musical instruments and lively performances from proud young hill tribe people.

The show gives guests an insight into the lifestyle of the hill tribe people. After the show chat with friends around a log fire before retiring to the comfort of your chalet.

Day 2 Morning Trek - Karen Hill Tribe Lodge (B/L/D)

After a good breakfast commence a 3 hour trek through jungle and along streams to the elephant camp. During the trek your guide will show you edible fruit, herbs, and medicinal plants. Jungle Lunch will be prepared using natural utensils - bamboo, Banana Leaves.  After Lunch swim at a mountain waterfall and ride your elephant through jungle, over mountains and along streams. After leaving the elephants at the elephant camp continue to Karen Hill Tribe Lodge to relax until dinner is served.

After dinner enjoy chatting with friends around the camp fire until you retire to your room.

Day 3 Return to Chiang Mai (B/L)

After a great breakfast commence trekking though jungle and rice fields to Baan Houy Ya-Nai a Karen hill tribe village where an ancient traditional Karen Hill Tribe ceremony welcomes you. At the village you observe traditional daily activities such as rice pounding, weaving. Visit a Lisu hill tribe village where you see the daily activities of the Lisu. Continue to the Royal Project specializing in non-indigenous fruit and vegetables Picnic lunch is served at the village or the Royal Project where you can taste the delicious Arabica coffee grown at the Royal Project. One-hour journey to Houy Nam Duang National Park where you visit Thailand's largest geyser Pong Duat. After lunch, continue along mountain scenery to relax or swim at Mok Fha waterfall. Drop off at your hotel in Chiang Mai around 17.30 ot transfer to airport for your next destination.
